About PelvIQ

What is PelvIQ?

A private notebook and research assistant for chronic pelvic pain. It keeps your whole history in one place — symptoms, what you've tried, for how long, and what changed — and uses it to research your questions in published studies, plan small experiments between appointments, and turn it all into a short summary for your next visit.

Is this medical advice?

No. PelvIQ gives you information and tools to understand your own situation and prepare better questions. It doesn't diagnose, prescribe or replace your clinicians. Anything written by AI is labelled, and it can be wrong.

It isn't for emergencies. If you're in danger, call your local emergency number. In the US, if you're having thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT or Claude?

A general chatbot starts from scratch each time and answers from memory. PelvIQ is built for one job:

  • It keeps your history, and you check it. Treatments are stored with how long you tried them, how consistently, and what changed. Nothing the AI picks up is saved until you confirm it.
  • Research uses real sources. It searches PubMed, Europe PMC, ClinicalTrials.gov and Crossref with a team of two AI agents: a researcher that reads the papers and drafts the answer, and a reviewer that checks no claim goes further than the studies. Every citation and quote is checked word for word, and it says how far each study applies to you.
  • It's honest about uncertainty. It says when evidence is thin, when studies disagree, and what it couldn't check.
  • It follows through. Experiments, check-ins, research alerts and the appointment summary all build on the same history.

More detail: PelvIQ vs a general chatbot.

Who made it?
“I had chronic pelvic pain for years. After three treatments aimed at muscle tone did nothing, I was still sold a $3,000 Botox course aimed at the same thing. I built PelvIQ so you can see what your own history already tells you, before the next appointment.”

— Max, founder. It's run at cost: credits pay for the AI work, not profit.

Has a clinician reviewed PelvIQ?

Not yet. A review by a licensed pelvic floor physical therapist is planned, covering the treatment-to-target list (what each treatment is usually aimed at) and the red-flag rules (when PelvIQ says to get checked promptly or urgently). Until it has happened, PelvIQ doesn't show a "reviewed" badge anywhere.

Privacy and your data

What happens to a story I paste into “See your treatment map” without an account?

PelvIQ's AI reads it to build the map. It isn't saved to any account unless you create one, and it's deleted after 24 hours (or straight away with "Delete it now"). Only a random key in a cookie on your device can open it. To stop the free map being abused, a hash of your IP that changes daily is kept for 2 days, never the IP itself. Try it.

Do you sell my data or show ads?

No. There are no ads, analytics, trackers or session recordings, and your data goes to no one beyond the services listed on where your data goes.

Who can see what I write?

Only you. Every record is locked to your account in the database. The exceptions are ones you choose:

  • When you use an AI feature, the text and the parts of your history it needs are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to write the answer.
  • A provider link you create shows the summary you picked to whoever has the link, until it expires or you turn it off.
  • If you report a problem with an AI answer, the PelvIQ team sees that answer (and the context, if you include it) to check it.
  • What you post in the Community is readable by other members under your community name. Nothing from your private notebook goes there unless you choose to share a treatment result from it (structured facts only, never your words, dates or clinicians' names).
Is my data used to train AI?

PelvIQ doesn't train any AI models. It uses Anthropic's paid API, whose commercial terms say customer content isn't used to train its models. How long Anthropic keeps request data is set by those terms — see where your data goes.

You can turn AI processing off at any time in Settings → Privacy. Your notebook keeps working without it.

What gets sent when PelvIQ researches my question?

Only a few generic medical search terms — never your words, name, dates, age or any ID. They pass an identifier check first, and you can see and edit them before anything is sent.

What happens to what I say in the Journal?

Your words are saved in your private journal, exactly as you said or typed them. When you talk, your phone (or your browser's speech service) turns speech into text; no audio is recorded or kept, by PelvIQ or anyone else on our side.

If AI processing is on, PelvIQ's AI reads an entry once, to write a one-line summary and pick out things like a discomfort number you gave, sleep, stress, what you did and whether a flare started or ended. You check that on one screen before it's saved: anything you didn't say stays unknown, and your corrections are kept separately so a later re-read never overwrites them. Quick numbers use no AI. Nothing goes into My Story unless you tap “Add to your timeline”.

Ask can see a short summary of your last 90 days of entries, so it can say “from your 12 Oct entry”. The trends on Home and in the Journal are worked out in code, never guessed: days you didn't log are gaps, not good days. Delete any entry from its page; Erase my story and Delete my account remove them all.

How do I delete my data?

Erase my story (bottom of My Story, or in Settings) clears everything you've put in — history, journal entries, check-ins, experiments, chats, documents, research — and keeps your account and credits so you can start fresh.

Delete my account (Settings) removes everything, including your account.

Both are immediate in the live database. Backups may hold a copy until they expire. You can download all your data first (Settings → Your data).

Is PelvIQ HIPAA compliant?

PelvIQ isn't a healthcare provider, and we don't claim HIPAA compliance or any certification. Instead, where your data goes describes exactly what the code does, including what we haven't confirmed yet.

Can I keep it discreet on a shared device?

Inside the app, the browser tab says “Notebook” by default rather than PelvIQ (you can change this in Settings). Signing out clears the session and any unsent drafts on that device.

Using PelvIQ

Do I have to tell my whole story at once?

No. Tell it however it comes out — typed, dictated, or by uploading documents. PelvIQ organises it and shows you what it picked up, and you confirm, edit or reject each piece. You can add more any time.

What if PelvIQ gets something wrong?

You can correct anything in your history; summaries built on the old version are marked out of date. Every AI answer also has a “Report a problem” link, and every chat reply and research answer has 👍 / 👎.

Can I share it with my doctor or physical therapist?

Yes. Appointments makes a one-page summary and a PDF you choose the sections of, and you can create a private provider link that expires. They don't need an account.

Is there an app?

PelvIQ works in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app and stays signed in.

Credits and payments

Is it free?

Your notebook is always free: history, check-ins, experiments, flare log, community, and your appointment summary and provider link. None of these use AI.

You also get $1.00 of everyday AI each month (chat, structuring your story, reading a document). Deep research and research alerts use credits.

What do credits pay for?

The AI work, at what it costs: deep research, research alerts, and everyday AI beyond the free amount. Every AI action shows its estimated cost before you start. No subscription, no daily limit, and credits never expire.

Everything is itemised. The introductory offer is $4.99 one time (the regular price will be $19.99): it adds $3.80 of AI credit, and the other $1.19 covers hosting, the database and secure storage, and Stripe's card fee. When it runs out, the $19.99 lifetime unlock keeps it going, then top-ups at cost. Never a subscription, and nobody profits.

What does the payment company see?

Payments go through Stripe. PelvIQ sends Stripe only the amount and an opaque account number — never anything about your health. Your card details go straight to Stripe's checkout page; PelvIQ never sees them.

Something went wrong with a purchase or a research run.

Get in touch and we'll look into it. PelvIQ can add credits back to your account. Your credit history (AI credits page) shows every purchase and charge.

What are tips?

Optional. Tips are the only money that goes to Max rather than AI costs. They don't buy credits or unlock anything, and you don't need an account. Leave a tip.

Community

Is the community anonymous?

You post under a community name you choose, and only signed-in members can read it. Nothing from your private notebook is copied in unless you share it: you can share a treatment result from My Story in one tap, or turn on automatic sharing (off by default). Only structured facts go (what you tried, whether it helped, roughly how long), never your words, dates or clinicians' names, and they appear 1 to 3 days later. Shared counts (like how many members have a symptom) only appear once at least 5 people are counted, so a number never points to one person. You can delete anything you post.

Urgent help

Get urgent care now (your local emergency number: 911 in the US, 999 in the UK, 112 in the EU) if:

  • You can't pass urine, or your bladder feels full and you can't empty it.
  • New numbness around your groin, buttocks or inner thighs together with new bladder or bowel changes or leg weakness.
  • Fever or chills with the pain, or you feel very unwell.
  • Heavy bleeding from your rectum, or blood in your urine with a fever.
  • Sudden, severe testicle pain or swelling.
  • An erection that won't go down after 4 hours.
  • Sudden, severe one-sided pelvic pain — especially if you could be pregnant.
  • Pain that's suddenly different from, and much worse than, any flare you've had.

If it's all too much: in the US call or text 988; elsewhere, findahelpline.com. In immediate danger, call your emergency number.
